Lauren’s a designer passionate about UX, continued learning, and remote work.
Growing up, my “What I Want To Be When I’m Older” aspirations were pretty diverse as, over the years, I envisioned myself being a teacher, archaeologist, interior designer, and graphic designer.
But the consistent themes throughout my evolving interests included problem-solving, uncovering meaningful insights, sharing knowledge with others, and crafting visually compelling designs.
I have a degree in Human-Centered Computing from the Rochester Institute of Technology with concentrations in Research, Accessibility, and Visual Design.
My career started as a UX Designer at GE, where I focused my time in the e-commerce and admin space, designing tools that allow employees to self-serve across their technologies.
I work remotely from the DC suburbs where I live with my chihuahua, Josie.
My Design Principles
-
I believe that collaboration enhances creativity and learning, and brings together diverse perspectives while creating a space for new ideas and constructive feedback.
-
The moment we feel stagnant and comfortable is the moment we stop growing and pushing ourselves to be better.
-
‘Kaizen’ is a Japanese business philosophy of continuous improvement. Designs are never done and there will always be room for improvement, one iteration at a time.
After Hours
I enjoy traveling and leisurely exploring new places. My goal is to visit all 50 states, but I’ve still got a long ways to go.
I’m also a homebody at heart who enjoys interior decorating. The cozy peacefulness of being in my own space unmatched.
I rarely go anywhere without my Kindle. I usually can be found in the middle of a romance, thriller, mystery, fantasy, or personal development book.
